Happy Working Girl Tuesday Friends!
As you know, I like to take the trends from the runways and turn them into something that is chic and workplace appropriate. One of the biggest trends to hit the spring 2011 runways was colorblocking. What a colorfully happy way to dress at the office! The easiest way to rock this look is to find a dress that does the complicated part for you (mixing and matching colors that you might not otherwise put together). Today's dress by DVF does that beautifully. I love the shade of salmon mixed with a deep, royal purple. Remember that colorblocking is generally a minimalist look, so you want to keep the accessories to a minimum and very sculptural. A pair of nude shoes and a great gold necklace is really all you need. Although, if you're really daring (like me!) you'll find a great pair of sandals in another vibrant color and throw those on. How fun would turquoise be with this look?! Go ahead, be brave!
