The Royal Wedding - What will she wear????

Happy Thursday Evening Friends,
Is your fashion curiosity killing you this evening?  Mine certainly is!!  And, no, I'm not talking about the soon-to-be Princess' much buzzed about wedding dress.  I'm talking about the Queen of Fabulousness, Victoria Beckham!  Regardless of what everyone else wears, Posh will be certain to blow us all away.  I think she will choose something from her incredible Fall 2011 runway show.  But, here's the twist....she's getting pretty preggers at this point. Will she don one of the super fitted sheaths and flaunt that bump?  Or, will she wear something a little more flowing to hide the baby girl? I'm not totally sure, but here are my top picks from her collection.  And a few fabulous accessories (Philip Treacy hats and sky-high Louboutins, of course!)  I can't wait!!!

Spring Must-have piece

I'm all about a fabulous piece that will work hard for the money (so to speak).  When I stumble upon an utterly cool piece that I can wear many different ways, I bring this find to you immediately!  I picked up a great oversized loose knit sweater early this spring season and have already found a million ways to wear it!  The one below is from Theory and would be the perfect multi-tasker.  I've been wearing mine with a white tank and white jeans with wedges for an effortless casual look.  It would also be super cool over a white swimmy while on vacay.  Or you could pair it with some denim cutoffs and flat sandals.  Do you see what I mean??  A million ways to wear it, one more chic than the next!   What other way can you find to wear it?

Tuesday's Working Grrrrl Chic!

I was so inspired by this picture of Helen Mirren in a full lenghty, floaty leopard dress and leather jacket at the recent premier of "Arthur."  I love the idea of taking something that doesn't seem to fit in a certain situation (like a full length leopard gown at a red carpet event) and making it completely breathtaking.  This made me think, could we make a hot little leopard dress work-day chic using the same tricks?  The answer to that inquiry is, YES!  Look at this beautiful Alice and Olivia sheath dress in rich leopard paired with a black motorcycle jacket. The trick is to cover up your arms, and be sure the dress is an appropriate length.  If spring is in full force in your neck of the woods, then you could always switch a black cardy for the jacket. Then pair a statement necklace in shocking coral and some lady like pumps. I think the perfect little bow on this Fendi style adds just a touch of sweetness to this other wise daring ensemble.  Fabulously ferocious!

Bright Bottoms!

Happy Monday Readers,
So I am back from Easter hiatus and feeling rested and relaxed on this spring morning.  This has led me to crave color and whimsy in my Monday ensemble. I think the freshest way to do that is with a pair of vibrantly fabulous pants!  You could tone this look down with a neutral blouse and shoes, but I say kick it up a notch with some colorful espadrilles and a striped top.  Now that's a funday Monday! Hope your Monday is this fun an whimsical too!

Fashionable friends

I love a good "chic flick" especially one centered around a hilarious group of girlfriends.  Having a tightknit group of fabulous friends myself, it's always something that I identify with.  When you take those girls and put them in a uber-fashionable Harper's Bazaar photo spread, you've got movie magic!  How fun does this shoot look?

Unfortunately, (as said girlfriends can attest) I have experienced the danger of drunk shopping - aboard a spring break cruise to Mexico nonethless.  It yielded the ugliest bracelet ever created, but was still one of the best shopping trips to date!  So, cheers to girlfriends....and remaining hydrated during shopping excursions!

Working Girl Chic Tuesday - Colorblock fabulously

Happy Working Girl Tuesday Friends!
As you know, I like to take the trends from the runways and turn them into something that is chic and workplace appropriate.  One of the biggest trends to hit the spring 2011 runways was colorblocking.  What a colorfully happy way to dress at the office!  The easiest way to rock this look is to find a dress that does the complicated part for you (mixing and matching colors that you might not otherwise put together).  Today's dress by DVF does that beautifully.  I love the shade of salmon mixed with a deep, royal purple.  Remember that colorblocking is generally a minimalist look, so you want to keep the accessories to a minimum and very sculptural.  A pair of nude shoes and a great gold necklace is really all you need.  Although, if you're really daring (like me!)  you'll find a great pair of sandals in another vibrant color and throw those on.  How fun would turquoise be with this look?!  Go ahead, be brave!

The Kardashian Kloset!

Happy Monday Fashion Friends!
I am Krazy for a fabulous Kloset and Khloe Kardarshian's does not disappoint!  Ok, I know, enough with the K's.  But, I'm overwhelmed by the number of shoes in this dreamland closet.  I'm wondering if there is a Louboutin made that she does not own!  Being a shoe-gal myself, I completely understand the obsession.  Here are a few pics from her Elle spread to get your Monday off on the right "foot."

I love all things Gwynnie!

Hi Fashion Friends,
I have a confession to make....I am obsessed with all things Gwyneth Paltrow.  GOOP, her appearances on Glee, and my favorite movie of all time, Shakespeare in Love, just to mention a few.  I'm also super excited about her new cookbook, My Father's Daughter, mostly because of all of the promotional appearances she has been making lately.  The last one I caught was Good Morning America where she wore this fantastic blush ensemble.  I am loving that her dress is very nude, not sweetly pink.  It's so seductive, but completely covered up.  I will certainly be using this trick the next time I need something appropriate, but still flirtatious.  I'm also considering wearing my hair straight tomorrow. I know, but I already warned you.....obsessed!

In Honor of the Birthday Girl!!!

I have to take this opportunity to wish a happy, happy birthday to my very best friend in the whole world!  Today she changes from the 20's box to the 30's box in Harper's Bazaar's "Fabulous at Every Age" monthly feature.  A change I will also be making next month...so I won't be too mean.  Suffice it to say, that this dear friend, and constant fashion and life inspiration will certainly be as hot in her 30's as she ever was.  I wish I could be there to celebrate with you.  But, since we are on opposite sides of the country, here is a little homage to your bday.  Look at all of these fabulous fashionistas that share your sign!  Hope your day is filled with happiness and champagne!

Working Girl Chic - Opposites Attract

Happy Working Girl Chic Tuesday Everyone!

Being a big fan of the idea that "opposites attract" in my fashion ensembles, I thought it would be fun to take this idea to the office!  I am usually not one to go for "sweetsie" looks - generally my outfits are more rock and roll than precious.  However, every once in a while, I find a "girly" piece that I fall in love with (like this Sonia Rykiel bow blouse!)  I love the idea of doing this feminine piece with shockingly colorful skirt and rocker-chic accessories.  The key is mixing sweet and sexy....a chain cuff and earrings with a ladylike bag, a bow blouse with killer strappy pumps.  Get it?  Now go out and mix up your favorite pieces to make a new and cool work ensemble!

What to wear - Fashion Party!

Tomorrow night I have been invited to attend a fabulous fashion fete and the first thing that pops into my mind is....what is a girl to wear!?!  For the fashion crowd you can certainly wear something the pushes the envelope a little more than at a regular cocktail party.  I thought it would be fun to do a perfectly draping brightly colored dress, along with some statement accessories.  We all know the color of the moment is coral, and the color blocking could not be cooler!  I love this over sized agate bracelet and think it is a great way to toughen up this feminine frock.  Some strappy, super-high Louboutins will round out the outfit perfectly!  Just throw your coral lip gloss in an exotic skin clutch and you're ready to party, fashionista style!

Weekend Wear - Grecian Chic

Hallelujah Fashion Friends!  We are getting dangerously close to another beautiful weekend.  Despite having to work most of this weekend (after all, fashion never rests!) I am going to channel a Grecian chic look.  I am obsessed with this look and have been searching for a flowing white maxi dress for quite some time  This one from DVF is perfection!  I can just imagine it with gold sandals, feminine earrings and an armful of gold bangles.  I will most certainly need a messy side braid and sunkissed cheeks to complete this look.  Goddess look complete!  Have a fabulous weekend!!

Girls on Film - Vogue Paris music video

Love, love, love this video.  Though the editorial being shot in this video ran last October, this video was only just released on You Tube a few days ago, and since then I have watched it about fifteen times.  Seriously, how glamorously fabulous is this?  I am currently playing it on my laptop and dancing around in my bedroom making model faces in the mirror.  Oh, to get to do this for a living.....

What I'm Craving today

Ok, so today has been one of those days.  I've been craving sweets aaaallll day long and have already had multiple pieces of candy and a rich and delicious chocolate cupcake.  Most definitely undoing all the hard work I put in this morning at Bar Method.   In order to curb these cravings I'm hoping to channel them into something a little healthier....a fabulous handbag.  The one that I've been craving recently is this fabulous Chloe "Marci" crossbody bag.  Having become a recent convert to the crossbody bag, I sadly only have a couple and they are all very casual.  I think this one would be perfection for a night out on the town or a day of shopping.  It also works very well with the '70s chic aesthetic I've been channeling this spring.  I think this will satiate my sweet tooth perfectly!  Now, I don't need that second cupcake!  (OK, maybe just one more)

A go-to look - Working Girl Chic Tuesday

Every once in a while a girl needs a killer "go-to" look.  Something she can turn to when she has a big day at work, but doesn't want a look that is fussy or difficult to put together.  This is my "go-to" look. I wear this when I have an important meeting or need to appear powerful and in charge!  I'm not going to lie....it's heavily inspired by Miranda Priestly from Devil Wears Prada.  But, isn't that the way we all want to look when we're in charge?

All you need is a flawlessly tailored black dress, a big chunky necklace (one that doesn't move or make noise....it just lies perfectly and makes a serious statement).  The dress says, you're serious, the necklace says you're still fashionable.    Next step, show them you're still hot!  Cinch your dress at the waist and throw on the perfect pair of nude pumps to make your legs long and lean.  Style and power - now get out there and show them who's boss!

A new closet to drool over - Giuliana Rancic's Closet confession

Happy Monday Friends!
Here is another exciting closet confession for you!  I found this to be a super fun one because it is filmed in Giuliana's dressing room at "E!"   I don't know about you, but this makes me wish I had a tiny little fashion friend living in my closet to help dress me every day!  Ok, I know that's not actually the case, but a girl can dream!  Anyway, enjoy the shoe eye-candy and have a happy Monday!!

What to Wear - Friday Night Dinner With Friends

Happy Fashionable Friday Readers!
I apologize that the post is a bit tardy today.  The weather is finally back to spring here in Dallas and I've been soaking in the beautiful sunshine all morning!  But, now it's time to get down to business....deciding what I'm going to wear to dinner tonight with good friends.  Friday night is always such a joyous time for me and the hubby.  The pressures of the week are ending, we are getting together with friends and enjoying some the best cuisine Dallas has to offer.  That being said, I've usually been in fashion forward, restrictive ensembles all week and am ready for something fabulously easy and effortless.  That's how I'm feeling tonight.  So, I've decided to pull my favorite wide-leg jeans from the closet and pair with a floaty vibrant top.  Because the silhouette of this look is effortless and casual, the devil is in the details.  The details here being the fabulous gold jewelry and the second punch of color in the clutch.  For the final touch, you know I have to have my sky-scraping wedges when wearing my wide-leg jeans!  Voila!  Bring on the great friends and the margaritas!
