In the Trenches - Working Girl Chic Tuesday

Welcome to another "Working Girl Chic Tuesday!"  Today there is a little nip in the air and it made me think about the importance of the trench coat.  This key item really should have a special place in your work wardrobe.  It's perfect for early spring and late fall when you're not quite in heavy jackets, but it's not yet time for a lighter piece.  There are so many incarnations of the trench and, if you just take a little time, you are certain to find one that is perfect for you!  I absolutely adore the one below.  The little flounce at the neck gives a feminine touch, but the epaulets and traditional khaki color say, "I mean business!" 

Below, I've shown you a couple of options of how to wear this essential piece. I think, with the importance of the wide leg pant this spring, a pair of black trousers and a silky top would be just beautiful.  For a warmer day you can pair it with a classic black sheath dress and some beautiful heels. Notice that I've chosen to accent today's ensembles with leopard.  Remember that leopard can serve as a neutral, so feel free to throw in a little color with your ensemble if you want something brighter!  Accent your look with some gold jewelry and you're ready to go!

  Here's a little something to get you off on the right foot this Monday morning.  After all of the nasty weather we had last week all I can think about is SPRING!  What better way to begin your spring wardrobe than with the perfect pair of shoes.  I believe I have found them!  The classic YSL tribute sandal has captivated me for years.  Ideal proportions and a sky scraping heel make this a lust-worthy shoe.  However, add in the most fabulous snake skin in neutral colors and I just faint!  I would pair this with the all-white trend that was so strong on the runways this season.  But, honestly, a great snake skin shoe goes with everything....color, solids, prints...everything!

Cold Weather Essential

Happy Saturday Lovelies! I am very much enjoying my time here in DC with Posh Politico, but I have to admit being stylish in the coldest of climates can be quite a challenge (even for the most fashionable).  I'm always looking for something to jazz up the oh-so-boring coat, scarf and gloves combination.  Luckily, I have found my favorite new accessory.   I purchased a fur infinity scarf very similar to today's featured essential a few months ago and have yet to take it off.  It is truly the perfect cold weather accessory.  I have paired mine with everything from a sweater, leggings and flat boots to cocktail attire.  It truly adds something special to every ensemble.  Another fashion mystery solved!
