Cocktail or not?

There are two major things going on in the great city of Dallas right now, and they both have the city all a-buzz.  The first is this ridiculous weather.  Snow, ice, single digit temperatures...insanity!  The second (which is much more fabulous) is the Super Bowl, taking place in Dallas stadium this weekend.  Now, I could not care less about the game itself.  Not surprisingly, following professional football is not one of my hobbies. What I am excited about, however, is all of the glamour that comes with the Super Bowl (parties, celebrities, football wives and bling).  In fact, I have scored a ticket to one of the most exclusive and extravagant parties in town!

Now, to the dilemma....what to wear! The problem (which is often the problem with these ultra-cool parties) is that appropriate attire was not specified on the invite.  How many times has that happened to you?  You worry about showing up in something casual when everybody else is in cocktail or in a flashy dress when everyone else is in jeans.  What a nightmare!  Per the advice of my mother, it is always better to be overdressed rather than under dressed.  So, it's always best to err on the side of a dress.  For an even safer look don a beautiful dress (with little to no sparkle) with a motorcycle jacket and non-evening shoes. Not only is this a super chic and stylish look, but it also safely walks the line between casual and cocktail.  Just add a great clutch and some slightly sparkly accessories and you are all set.  Put me in the game, coach...I'm perfectly attired and ready to party!
