While the runway shows that take place during NY Fashion week are ridiculously inspiring, pictures of the fashion glitterati who attended the shows can be just as invigorating. The fashion editors, buyers and serious shoppers spotted all across town during this time of year take the key trends and apply them to their real (yet seriously fashionable) lives. I was considering this idea as I flipped through the pictures on
The Satorialist blog. (By the way, if you don't check this blog out daily you really should....the pictures are so beautiful and captivating.) One of the trends that I picked up on, and am very into this spring, is the return of the long skirt. Take a look at these great pictures! While these were all as worn as cold weather looks, with just a little tweaking this can become a fantastic spring look.
So, here is my take on this trend. I love the look of this neutral skirt with a white tank and white denim jacket. Throw on some low heeled wedges (high heels will make it look as if you're headed to a gala in a lycra ball gown). Keep your jewelry aesthetic organic (a charm necklace and assorted bangles). And add a pop of color with a great crossbody bag. I think this is going to be a go-to outfit for me this spring! What about you??
